About the Ski Resort

A ski hill has been in operation in the Westcastle River valley since 1966. From 1978, the facilities have been owned and operated by the Town of Pincher Creek and the Municipal District of Pincher Creek. The ski hill consists of 20 ski runs on some 36 ha of land. There are three T bars, a day lodge, some support building, and a parking lot for some 500 vehicles.

The hill can accommodate a maximum of 900 skiers a day. However, since the vertical drop is 508 m, half of the runs are for advanced or expert skiers. Furthermore, the absence of snow making equipment, typically mild winter conditions and strong warm westerly winds (Chinook) combine to shorten the length of the ski season.
