Heikki Hasu

Olympic medalist

Heikki Hasu (born March 21, 1926 in Sippola) was a Finnish athlete. He won gold in Nordic combined at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz. He also won at the 1950 Nordic skiing World Championships in Lake Placid, New York in Nordic combined. Hasu won the Nordic combind event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1953. For his Nordic combined success, Hasu became the first Finn to be awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1952 (shared with Stein Eriksen, Torbjørn Falkanger, and Nils Karlsson.)
