About the Ski Resort

Sunlight Mountain Resort has an intimate unpretentious atmosphere that can be attributed to its small-town roots. With its summit situated on Compass Mountain, Sunlight offers beautiful vistas of majestic Mount Sopris and the surrounding Elk Mountain Range. Hundreds of acres of mild greens, intermediate slopes and black diamond extremes are offered to satisfy all levels and abilities. The affordability and laid-back attitude make Sunlight a favorite for all who visit.

Children always have a good time at Sunlight. Super Tots is a favorite program for returning guests. The offer includes a two-hour ski lesson, equipment rental, lunch and childcare. Sunlight also provides indoor childcare for age 18 months to six years old.

Sunlight Mountain Resort has the perfect experience for everyone. Skiers and snowboarders will discover terrain from bumps and steeps to glades and groomed trails on more than 460 acres. There is a perfect mix of Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert Terrain.

Snowmobilers will be impressed by the beauty and thrill of riding through the White River National Forest and checking out the 360-degree views from the ridge tops. The scenery includes breathtaking views of Mt. Sopris, the West Elk Mountains and faraway Flattops.

Cross-country and Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to take the beauty of the mountain. Our cross-country and snowshoe center offers 29 kilometers of groomed cross country and snowshoe trails. Beginning, intermediate and advanced trails wind their way through a gorgeous high valley, flanked by Sunlight Mountain and the 10,300-foot Williams Peak.

In the historic town of Glenwood Springs, an easy ten miles from Sunlight Mountain Resort, you'll find the world's largest Hot Springs pool, cozy and affordable lodges, wonderful restaurants and great shopping.
