About the Ski Resort
Devil's Thumb Ranch is a full-service, year-round resort located only 67 miles from Denver and 10 minutes from the town of Winter Park. The ranch encompasses approximately 4000 acres at the foot of the Continental Divide in the beautiful Ranch Creek Valley, providing seclusion, spectacular scenery, incredible dining and comfortable accommodations.
In the winter, Devil's Thumb Ranch is transformed into an extensive cross country ski and snowshoeing center with approximately 100 kilometers of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing plus 20 kilometers of marked snowshoeing trails. Devil's Thumb Ranch also offers sleigh rides during the winter, with dinner at The Ranch House Restaurant afterwards if you desire.
They are consistently voted number one in Colorado and just as consistently rated in the top five in any national poll or informed editorial.
In addition to their extensive cross country trails, Devil's Thumb Ranch also boasts spectacular trails for snowshoeing enthusiasts. A perfect outing for those who prefer a low key winter time experience

Ski Resort directions
From Denver head west on I-70.
Take exit 232 onto Hwy 40. Follow Hwy 40 for approximately 30 miles. You will pass through the town of Empire, over Berthoud Pass, through the towns of Winter Park and Fraser.
Approximately 2 miles past Fraser you will take a right on County Road 83 (if you get to Tabernash, you've gone too far).
County Road 83 will fork about 1/4 mile from the turnoff. Take the right hand fork and follow it 3 miles to our gate.
