About the Ski Resort
We are Bluefin Bay Resort located in Tofte, MN. We offer 143 km of xc ski trails Pisten Bully groomed. Most double tracked with skating in the middle. One of the most extensive trail systems on the North Shore of Minnesota. There are trails that would challenge skiers of every level.
Locally we have access to 55km of trails in our territory. All trails are single or double track set with skate skiing in the middle section. We have one trail that is open for skijoring with your dog that is 2km in length.
Our trail map shows which trails are easy, intermediate or advanced by marking in green, blue, and black. Several snowshoeing opportunities along the Superior Hiking Trail taking you to the second highest point in Minnesota (Carlton Peak) and two other mountains that offer beautiful panoramic views of Superior National Forest and Lake Superior.
Bluefin Bay is a Key Fischer Nordic Ski Center that offers all inclusive winter equipment for Guests at Bluefin Bay to sign out including snowshoes, a variety of wax, waxless, and skate skis, hockey and figure skates, maps of the trails and much more.
One of our most popular skis for all levels of skiers is the Bluefin Ski Down/Tofte Trail which offers a Shuttle to the trailhead so the skiers can go at their own pace and end up right back at Bluefin Bay Resort.
