About the Ski Resort
It is two resorts for the price of one at Ski Rio this season. Ski Rio and Cuchara are located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range and in close proximity to the state line dividing Colorado and New Mexico.
Ski Rio has the country's only park dedicated to snow skating, the state's largest snowboarding park, a prime area for Nordic skiing, and enchanting snowshoe trails. Ski Rio is the place for unspoiled, outdoor adventure. Turquoise skies and powder white snow. User friendly for traditional downhill skiers or high-flying snowboarders making clear turns and soft landings on big terrain. Park Sled Dogs beckons snow skaters to slide in style across 40-acres of trails and through challenging railings and stair-step obstacles. Those in search of peaceful surroundings and wildlife sightings can be found winding their way through the towering groves of trees on snowshoes or cross-country skis. Ski Rio is one of the roomiest resorts in the Rockies with deep powder, stunning views, and slopes that are quiet, calm, and uncrowded. They are New Mexico's largest ski resort, but you won't have to wait in line to enjoy the mountain.
