About the Ski Resort

Ski Plattekill offers the most double black diamond skiing runs within 2 1/2 hours of the New York metro area. This ski area is only open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. With a summit elevation of 3,500 feet, vertical drop of 1,000 feet and 28 exciting trails to choose from, Ski Plattekill is no small mountain. Located less than three hours driving distance from the New York metro area and under two hours from North Jersey, Ski Plattekill is worth the trip. Ski Plattekill was also rated the #2 Mountain Biking Resort in the country by Verge Magazine last summer and listed in the top 100 places to ride in the world in "Mountain Bike Action" August 1997. Ski Plattekill has established a name for itself as leading mecca for mountain bike riding. The Plattekill Mountain Biking Resort is the largest and closest chair lift served mountain biking center to the New York Metro area. It's entering its fourth year of mountain biking with some of the east coast's most exciting terrain. Mountain riding is available for all levels of ability from 20 miles of downhill singletrack to over 40 miles of cross-country trails built specifically for mountain bike riding.

Ski Plattekill is located 1 hour west of the New York State Thruway in the Catskill Mountains. Driving time is about 2.5 hours from New York City and 1.5 hours from Albany. Take the New York State Thruway to exit 19, then Route 28 west to Arkville to Route 30 north to Roxbury.
