About the Ski Resort
Masthope Mountain Community is a mountain resort located among the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. The Pocono Mountain Region encompasses the entire northeast corner of Pennsylvania. Less than a two-hour drive from both New York City and Philadelphia, the area is accessible from interstates 80, 84, and 476 (the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike). The area offers a myriad of year-round activities including skiing, white water sports, mountain biking, boating, fishing, golf, sight seeing, historic sites, and NASCAR racing. Natural attractions at the Delaware Water Gap and Bushkill Falls are favorite destinations. The Poconos have many major ski resorts, golf courses and state parks. The ski area caters to the intermediate and advanced skiers. The ski area utilizes one beginner run, five intermediate runs and three advanced runs. New for Ski Big Bear in 1996/97 was the all new snowtube park, which offers 600 feet of excitement with its own tow-lift.
